SpearsAge: Unknown though looks to be in his mid twenties.Gender: MaleRace: ShinigamiOccupation: Supervisor of the Dispatch Management Division.Physical Description: Standing at a height of 182 cm (6 ft.) with black hair and green eyes which are hidden by glasses with a black frame.
William also wears almost always dressed in a nice black suit, tie, black gloves, and dress shoes. To put it simply he looks very sharp looking and that is why he has the stage name known very well as 'Suit.' His build is athletic. Always if anything his clothing style will always sort of be like a suit.Personal Description: William is emotionless and generally calm. In regards to his job, he is strict, follows the rules precisely, and seems extremely devoted. He does not take kindly to individuals who cause problems or create more work for him, particularly if it forces him to apologize for their actions. Nonetheless, he seems to share Ronald's distaste for overtime work.
He has no qualms with inflicting minor injury on others. He finds demons to be disgusting creatures, and is seen calling them a variety of names, including "devilish fiend," "leech," "hound," and "vermin." However, he does not seem to like anyone very much.Family: None.Death Scythe: William has a simple death scythe that appears to be a long metal rod with one clipper on each end. It is two-toned, with the front half being silver and the back half being black, and it is controlled by a handle that is midway through the rod.
It is shown that he can use his death scythe to attack, defend, collect souls, and activate cinematic records, like other Reaper’s death scythes. It also has the unique ability to extend great distances, with the farthest seen distance to be from the top of a manor's roof apparently all the way down to where a Demon was dying in the basement.
Unlike other Reaper, William is never seen without his death scythe.. He uses it for a variety of purposes including adjusting his glasses, as a walking stick, balancing on a tight rope, and making a line in dirt. He seems to be familiar and comfortable enough with its use that it comes across more like an extension of his hand.
His Death Scythe is a gardening tool called a 'Pruning Pole.'Background: William and a fellow Reaper named Grell are assigned to mentor a group of students training to become Reaper. One of the students asks about what the final exam will entail. The final exam involves two students being paired together and assigned a human soul scheduled to die. Together, the students must judge the human's life and determine whether to allow that human to live, or if the death should proceed as scheduled. Grell declares his nostalgia for the time, revealing that he and Will were exam partners, suggestively referring to the incident as their "first night". This prompts a flashback to the time of the exam in the late 18th century.
William is a calm and respectful student to Grell even though Grell doesn't like him. Will and Grell are assigned to reap the soul of a young aspiring novelist. Grell initially shows no hesitation in the decision to let him die, but Will insists that they observe him longer before they make a judgement, as they have a month. Grell is indignant about this decision, fights with Will over it, beating him easily. They continue observing the author, and Grell changes his mind about his death when Thomas Wallis called him beautiful and he reads his newest book. When Will said that no one can change the destiny of a person, they fight once again. When Will wins, Grell is enamored with his strength. Grell saves Will's life after he encounters trouble attempting to reap their human target by himself, and they successfully collect the soul together.
He made it to Supervisor at some point in his carrier impressing many people along the way with his power. That is all that is known about William’s past.Other: William is the only Shinigami to reveal his middle initial, in William's case "T".
His name may refer to writer William Shakespeare.
William appears to dislike nicknames and insists on always refers to a person by their full name. He allows Grell to call him "Will", but it's implied that William might have just gotten tired of correcting him.
A running gag in the anime is William hitting or whacking Grell on the head with something after Grell makes a statement. This is taken to the extreme in the third OVA where William actually stabs Grell in the head twice (once in the back and once in the front).
William is never seen without his Death Scythe.
As shown in the OVA William is able to stay in the human world without being recognized. This is probably a reference to the manga, where William made no attempt to hide the fact that he was a Shinigami but was not taken seriously by the circus crew.
Although all of the Shinigami wear glasses, it is revealed that William is pathetically blind without his, as shown when he points to the wrong direction when talking to Ronald.
According to creator Yana Toboso, William is Grell's actual "True love."
Grell had higher grades than William when they were students.What brings them to England? William T. Name: Grell SutcliffAge: UnknownPhysical Description: Grell Sutcliff is a Shinigami that has long red hair up to his hips, maybe longer. His eyes are the color of light lime or light yellow-green. His unusual feature is having sharp shark-like teeth. His disguise before he revealed his true form was a butler with brown hair tied up in a ponytail with large round glasses, he was Madame Red's butler/partner. He was shy, and clums in disguise. However, once he revealed himself, he has red-framed square glasses and false eyelashes as well.Personal Description: He is over-the-top and flamboyant, and thinks of himself as a woman, and wishes to be one. He refers to himself as "she other than "he". He has a tendency to narrate things in theater like, such as the fall of Madame Red and the fight between Sebastian and Grell as 'Romeo and Juliet'. Even though it may seem as if he has great feelings towards Sebastian the Butler he actually, in general, loves men. He sees them all attractive in their own ways, such as, he fell in love when he looked into the Undertaker's eyes, and he chases Pluto when he says he says he made his "hunk radar" go off. He's pretty much a gay sexual guy which no one returns their love for. Why should you portray the character: I believe I should portray this character because I too love and desire men. I find lots of guys attractive, you just gotta find as soon as they introduced Grell, I couldn't help but love his personality. He loves red very much, and I too think red is a lovely color. He can be silly and clumsy at times, but when the situation gets serious, he too can be serious yet playful, I like those kinds of personalities hehe I have rped for years now, I know very well how to rp story mode, its very fun! It may seem I barely know too much of Grell but I will soon know more of him, after all, I only finished season 1 on New Year's Eve hah. I also love how his weapon when from a well customed chainsaw to a lowly pair of scissors! :3 Sample Roleplay: Grell Sutcliff was walking by into the Phantomhive Mansion on a sunny afternoon. He wanted to see how his dearly beloved Sebby was doing. He walked along into the Mansion casually, searching in every room where his dear Romeo could've been hiding. He lets out a sigh and pouted his lips in loneliness. "Oh Sebby, where have you gone off to?"He heard voices in the dining room, so he followed the sounds and cautiously opened the door to peek inside. Oh my, he thought. There you are my Bassy~He smirked widely as he watched the physique man pour a cup of tea for the noble Ciel Phantomhive. He couldn't help it. His spine was tingling.. he felt excited all together. He had to jump for it but that didn't stop him from glomping the gorgeous beast, so he jumped as high as he could and in the end, he hits hi head on the door and falls down. He watched his lovely Bassy walk away without a scratch, and he called out in great sorrow. "Bassy! Come back to me!" "I do love red the most. It's great for hair, clothes, lipstick, I love them to be red. That's why I love using fresh blood to do make-up for those ugly women. The more flamboyant a woman is, the more she's as beautiful as a poisonous flower, right?"
